FoodHQ welcome Jo O'Neil

Jo O’Neil has recently joined the FoodHQ team as Events and Relationship coordinator.

Jo grew up in Taumarunui and has fond memories of sharing her mum's amazing cooking and her Dads extensive vege patch with her ten siblings - where her love of food began. She has spent many years working in hospitality, training and events, and has previously owned a cafe and catering business.

As a Food Service Manager for BP, Jo’s eyes were opened to the corporate environment and where she worked closely with Managers in their food forecasting, staff training and finances in their Wild Bean Cafes. This was also where her first interactions with food technology and the concept of designing and introducing new products to market.

As a farmer and chef and a Mum, Jo has a foot in multiple camps throughout the food industry and believes collaboration is essential to our collective success. She is passionate about how we can ensure a thriving food future in NZ, bringing people and all things food together.

Jo will be focusing on expanding the FoodHQ events calendar with new initiatives to strengthen our local and national food business, science and innovation communities.
